Magee Weaving

About

Magee Weaving is a fifth-generation Irish family business, with over 150 years’ experience in designing, weaving and tailoring luxurious fabrics in Donegal, Ireland. All of our linens are woven at our mill in Donegal, nestled alongside the River Eske.

History

Our story began in the 1860s at the Ardara Homespun Market in County Donegal. John Magee bought and sold handwoven tweed, which has been part of the local tradition for centuries. The success of the handwoven tweed business allowed John Magee to establish a drapers shop in Donegal Town. The shop passed to his cousin, Robert Temple, in 1901. Over the course of the 20th century, Magee 1866 established itself as the home of weaving, tailoring and design in Donegal. Today the fourth and fifth generation of the Temple family remain at the helm.

What we do

At Magee Weaving we hold our distinctive heritage at the heart of everything we do, with a contemporary twist for the modern day. We design each fabric that passes through our mill, carefully considering colour and pattern. Our weaving mill is located in Donegal town, where our highly skilled team weaves luxury fabrics, which are exported across the world. We specialise in natural textiles with Irish Linen the backbone of our Spring Summer Collection.

Our linens are used by some of the best-known designer labels in the world.
